Golden Gate Getaway: program | blog | register | postcard front / back | flyer | terraloco home
Original Announcement:
Get in groups of 4 for fun orienteering / navigation intervals in the streets of Old Oakland - probably 4 little courses and some rest jogs in between each course, for a total of about 3.0 km. Interesting places and backdrops! Then we'll continue to Lakeside Park to run a sprint course, about 3.0 km, through lovely park terrain with a chasing start.
Magnus Johansson, Canadian national team coach, is setting the courses.

Directions:
Frank Ogawa Plaza is on the northwest corner of 14th and Broadway in downtown Oakland. City Hall is in Frank Ogawa Plaza. We're meeting in front of City Hall in the ampitheater.
From Interstate 980, take one of the downtown Oakland exits from 12th St. to 18th St., and head east towards Broadway. Park near the corner of Broadway and 14th St. Since we are going to finish in Lakeside Park, it's actually recommended that you park there for free. So, really, you should take Interstate 580 to the Harrison St. exit, and head south (down the hill) on Harrison towards downtown Oakland. Make a left at Grand Ave., then make the first right at Bellevue, and park along Bellevue close to Grand. Then jog or walk the mile along Grand to Broadway and down Broadway to 14th St. (You turn left on Broadway.)
Public Transit:
The 12th St. BART station has an exit at Frank Ogawa Plaza at 14th St.
AC Transit bus lines which run downtown such as the 1, 51, 72, and NL also stop on Broadway near 14th St. (the NL stops at 20th and Broadway.)
