Some of BAOC's primo oak woodland terrain, the best in my opinion, used before for several A-meets including the U.S. Middle Course championships. A great place for technical training. Morgan Territory offers interesting and frequent rock detail that is clearly mapped.
The participants will get maps and set courses, then run each other's courses. Kind of a potluck.
Details:
Rideshare / carpool spot: Dublin / Pleasanton BART station. If you're riding BART, you'll find your ride in front of the fare gates at the station entrance. All others, pay $1 to park in the station lot. Everybody meets in front of the fare gates at the station entrance before 12:30 to arrange ride shares and then we'll depart at 12:30. BART riders: allow an extra 20 minutes - your train will likely be delayed by construction of a new station just before Dublin / Pleasanton. So a few people will pay $1 who don't need to; this is to save you the trouble of paying a parking ticket if you're unlucky while waiting.
Event open at 1:00. Courses should be ready by 2:00 or 2:30, then people can test out each other's courses. All courses close at 4:30 so we can get picked up before dark.
6:00 social afterwards at Zachary's Pizza in San Ramon.
Cost $5, or included if you're registered for the whole week.
Directions:
To the carpool spot at Dublin/Pleasanton BART... from Interstate 580, take the Hopyard or Dougherty exit. Turn right on Hopyard or left on Dougherty. Turn left onto Owens Dr. and then left into the BART station. The fare gates and station entrance are under the freeway.
To the park... take I-580 east to the North Livermore Avenue exit in Livermore. Head north on North Livermore Ave until forced to turn left onto Manning Road. Take the next right onto Morgan Territory Road, and continue about 5 and a half miles to the park entrance on the right. The road is very narrow with many sharp curves, so allow extra time and drive carefully.
Public Transit:
It's best to carpool, or have someone pick you up from the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station.
